Kindergarten registration and registration for grades 1-5 for the 2019-2020 school year has begun.  Please bring your child’s proof of residency (current utility bill), birth certificate, and updated immunizations.  If you have friends or neighbors that have school age children, please share this information with them.  Registration packets will be available in the LP Brown office.

Free Parenting Workshop
The Olympia School District is offering a free (K-5) parenting workshop with Candyce Lund Bollinger.  Bollinger is a parent educator and private parenting counselor in Washington State and has been practicing for more than 35 years.  The Tuesday, May 14th workshop is designed to help parents understand anger, as well as learn tools to manage anger in themselves and their children.
Time:  6:30pm to 8:30pm
Location:  Olympia Regional Learning Academy (ORLA)  2400 15th Ave. SE, Olympia,   WA   
Tuesday, May 14th

MAP Testing took place in April, and  Smarter Balance Testing begins in May.  Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will be taking the SBAC Standardized Test.  Testing will take place during the weeks of:  May 14th through May 31st, with makeup testing taking place the week of June 3rd.  The schedule is as follows:

May 14th – May 16th ELA Performance Task
May 21st – May 22nd ELA Computer Adaptive Test
May 23rd Science (5th Grade Only)
May 28th – May 29th Math Computer Adaptive Test
May 30th Math Performance Test

Make up testing will be May 31st, and June 3rd through June 7th.   Students are allowed to have gum during testing time (during testing time only).  Please make sure your students are well rested (ideally 9 to 10 hours of sleep) and have a healthy breakfast and snacks for the day.  They may also bring headphones from home if they find them more comfortable.  Please try not to schedule doctor, dental, etc. appointments during testing.  

Kindergarten through 5th grade music classes will be performing June 6th at 10:00am.  Everyone is welcome to attend!

Did you know that you can pay for your student’s fees, fines, and field trips using a credit card online?  Just follow these simple steps:
Log onto Skyward Family Access
Click the "District Links" icon in the far upper right corner of the screen
Drop down to "Online Payments"
This will take them to the Online Payment Portal.  Sign in with your Skyward login and password
Click "Pay Fines & Fees"

End of the school year is fast approaching. Do you know your child's lunch account balance? All negative balances need to be paid in full by the end of the school year.

Our racks are full; please check our lost and found for any missing items. We will be donating the left over items to The Little Red School House on Friday, June 21st .

Save the Date!  The LP Brown Science Fair will be Friday, June 7th.

There is no school Monday, May 27th in honor of Memorial Day.

Join us on Monday, June 3rd at 6:30pm in the LP Brown Library to join in on a conversation about technology and social media use.  Childcare will be available in the cafeteria, pay by donation.
