EAGLE EXCELLENCE CERTIFICATES
LP Brown is celebrating students with excellent classroom behavior. The school expectation is that every student be Safe, Kind & Responsible. Every month the teachers nominate students who consistently demonstrate Excellent Classroom Behavior and acknowledge them with a certificate.

PLAYWORKS ON THE PLAYGROUND
Through play, kids learn to make friends, solve problems, be empathetic, and resilient. Our Junior Coaches have been working diligently running and overseeing playground games and creating play environments where every child can join in, in ways that promote respectful, fun, and empowering play on the playground.

HOLIDAY GIVING
LP Brown has a tradition of hosting a holiday outreach program to help families in need by providing holiday gifts to students. Due to limited space at the school for gift collection, we will continue to request and provide gift cards, which allows families to shop for their loved ones. Registration for this program will be open until November 27th. Forms are available in the school office. At the end of November, gift tags will be displayed in the office for families who would like to sponsor a child/family by donating a gift card. The tags will indicate either the age of the child and one or more gift card options for him/her or a $25 grocery store gift card to help with a holiday meal. Please bring donated gift card(s) to the main office no later than Wednesday, December 12th. Please attach the tag to the gift card so we can match it with the child/family’s name for distribution.

Many, many thanks to you in advance for your charitable spirit.

LOST & FOUND
Our racks are full. Please check the lost & found for your missing items. We will be donating the left over items to The Little Red Schoolhouse before winter vacation. Please remember to write your student’s name in his/her coat.

VOLUNTEERING AT L.P. BROWN
Planning to help out in your child’s class, in the library, or on a field trip? Make sure you’ve completed a volunteer application for the 2018-2019 school year. It can take up to a week to get approval from the time you submit your application. To access the online application, go to the Olympia School District’s webpage (www.osd.wednet.edu), The volunteer application is in the middle section of the page.

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
As the weather gets cold and wet, it’s important to bring a coat and keep a change of clothes at school. Make sure that the clothing is labeled.
