Changing End of Day Dismissal Plans

We work really hard every day to ensure that all 335 kids get home safely and in the expected way. Doing this requires a huge collaborative effort between caregivers, teachers, and the front office.

We know that sometimes plans change and that you need to make adjustments to how your students get home. If you need to change plans, please try adhere to the following daily deadlines:

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 1:45 PM

Wednesday: 12:55 PM

Please notify the office of any changes in going home plans prior to the times listed above. Thank you so much for your help with this. (360) 596-6800

Conference Week October 27th - 31st

Conference week is coming up during the week of October 27th.

Conferences are student led conferences. School during this week is on a half day schedule. Dismissal is at 11:05 AM each day during this week.

Please bring your student to the conference. Siblings can also come with you. We will have a spot in the lower pod for siblings to wait for their turn in the conference rotation. This area will be staffed and supervised by school adults at all times.

Conference scheduling will open up in the Skyward app on Monday October 13th for families with more than one child at LP Brown. This will allow families with multiple LP Brown children to schedule their conferences back to back. Scheduling will open for everyone else on Wednesday October 15th. If you need help scheduling a conference, please reach out to your child's teacher with days and times you are available. They can help you get the conferences scheduled.

School Pictures

School pictures are ready! To order, log in to your account on mylifetouch.com or create an account using your student's student ID number. You can find your student's ID number in Skyward Family Access.

All families can also log on and order a FREE Digital SmileSafe card.

Re-Takes. will take place during the school day on Wednesday October 22nd. If your student was absent on the original picture day, you should have already received an envelope for ordering. If you need an envelope, please message your classroom teacher and let them know. They can send one home in the Monday Folders.

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat is once again hosted by our fabulous LP Brown PTO!

The event will take place on October 24th from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.

We still need LOTS of help to make this event a success. We need people to host trunks and we are looking for candy donations. Please consider helping if you are interested.

Big Smiles Dental Event

LP Brown has partnered with Big Smiles to offer dental care at school. Best of all, in most cases there is no cost to you if your child is insured with Medicaid/ CHIP! Private insurance and affordable self-pay options are also available. Dental care includes a complete exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride, and sealants when necessary, and in some cases, restorative care such as fillings.

If you would like your student to be seen please fill out a permission slip or sign up online now at MySchoolDentist. If you have any questions please contact Family Liaison Genevieve Carnes gcarnes@osd.wednet.edu or 360-596-6883

Winter Coats for Kids!

For the 4th year in a row our local firefighters are providing winter coats to any LP Brown student in need through the Firefighter Community Foundation. If your student is in need of a coat please send your sign up form back to school ASAP. If you did not receive a form and are in need of a coat, please contact Family Liaison Genevieve Carnes via parent square or via email at gcarnes@osd.wednet.edu. Coats will be distributed November 5th.

If you are willing and able, we would LOVE to have snack donations for our students! You can donate to the general school fund, or have snacks sent directly to your student's classroom teacher.

Ordering off this list allows you to shop from the comfort of your home and have everything shipped directly to the school.

Thank you for helping us attend to the nutritional needs of our students.
