Updates on Lesson Planning and Instruction

Staff Mtg. Tuesday

Staff Meeting in the Library at 2:30 PM on Tuesday.

I think what I would like to do is use this as an opportunity to gain some feedback on how to find time for all of you to get yourselves ready for the critical reading process implementation next year. Please be ready to help provide input on the following question:
  • Where is the best time in our structure for me to give you time to prepare your templates and plans for the critical reading process? Staff meetings, PLC time, LID Days in August? Just looking for some feedback so that we all feel like we are doing this work together.
I will also use this as an opportunity to talk about a couple of events coming up for the end of the year. It is a busy time of year. We could probably use a couple of minutes to get o the same page.

Please let me know if there are other topics you would like to discuss as a whole group.

Testing and Resource Room

I am looking for a little bit of feedback on how things went last Thursday when we had Todd and Anthony take testers to a separate location while Debbie and Tonya kept the resource groups running.

Did that plan work OK for all of you? Are there any minor adjustments we should be thinking about as we move forward? Please let me know if you have any input on the complicated process of testing while at the same time keeping routines available for kids.

Nuts and Bolts

Weekly Updates and Important Events/Reminders

Nurse Appreciation Day!

A huge shout out to Drew and Conae, who keep our health room running efficiently every day to support our students.

What I appreciate most is that the health room is a positive and supportive place where students feel loved and cared for in their time of need.

Thank you, Drew and Conae for taking such amazing care of our students every day!

STREAM Night May 28th

May 28th is STREAM Night! This is a night where we are going to combine STEAM Night with STAR Night. It is going to be a fabulous community event with dinner served for all that attend.

We need help for this event. In the near future, I will have a sign-up sheet available so that we can sign up for different responsibilities. It would be great to see a strong staff turnout for this event. The community loves seeing all of us connected and committed to a community parternership.

Advocate of the Year

At our last staff meeting, we all decided to nominate Janel Bistrika as our Advocate of the Year! I talked to her last week and she is thrilled to accept the nomination.

She is being recognized at the Board Meeting this Thursday at 6:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the contributions Janel has made to our school this year. Those that choose to attend will be out of there by about 6:30. The Board will take a break after the recognition to allow people to leave before the formal agenda resumes.
